Which four dental practice designs earned recognition in the 2022 Incisal Edge Design Competition?

• REPURPOSED PRACTICE— Carolina Dental, Matthews, North Carolina, Dr. Tara Howell

• SPECIALTY PRACTICE — (tie) Smile Suite Orthodontics, Evanston, Illinois, Dr. Kimberly Mays Smith

                                             (tie) Smiley Implants, Riverside, California, Dr. Mohamed Hassan

Annually, independent juried panelists for the Incisal Edge Design Competition perform a comprehensive review of photos and floor plans to determine which nominees from across the U.S. will earn national recognition for dental practice design. The criteria: attaining a balance of design, operation, and technology. This year’s competition, presented by Benco Dental, took place from August through November, 2021.

This year’s juried panel from the dental and architectural worlds included Joyce Bassett, DDS, FAACD, FAGD, Tristan Hamilton, DDS, M. ARCH, Andrew Lyons, DDS and Phyllis Marshall-Rice, LEED AP, EDAC. Dr. Hamilton is a previous recipient of an Incisal Edge Design Competition award.
