A course this week in Dallas, Texas is designed to go “Beyond the Basics” for dentists and dental team members who have been involved in Dental Sleep Medicine and/or have delivered Oral Devices for Sleep Apnea and Snoring.

Dream Systems Dental Lab, LLC, a designated Approved PACE Program Provider FAGD/MAGD. C, will host “Beyond the Basics” course at the Benco Dental CenterPoint Dallas Conference Center and Showroom, October 14-15.

Interactive learning, demonstrations, hands-on exercises and breakout sessions for advancing the Dental Sleep Medicine area of your practice will feature the following speakers, among others:

• Mark Abramson DDS, ABDSM, is a Diplomate of the AAOP, APM, AADSM, Executive Board Member of AAPMD and a Fellow AACP. He runs a private practice in Redwood City and Sleep Practice in a Cardiology office in Monterey, California. Dr. Abramson is on faculty with Stanford University and developed the FDA-cleared OASYS Oral/ Nasal Airway Systems.
  
• John Bixby DMD, D.ACSDD, FAGD is a Diplomate of the ACSDD, Member AADSM, Fellow of the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, a Fellow in AGD and the Dental Director at Sleep Dynamics Diagnostics Lab, in Neptune City, New Jersey. His practice is limited to the dental treatment of sleep disorder.
• Jim DuHamel DDS, Diplomate AADSM, Fellow ICCMO, ACSDD is a dentist from Valley Springs, California and specializes in TMJ and Sleep. Deepak Shrivastava, MD, Sleep Specialist, sees patients in his office regularly. Dr. DuHamel is a Diplomate with the AADSM and the ACSDD. He also has a practice limited to Dental Sleep Medicine, along with creating Sleep Connect Inc., software designed to track your sleep dental patients.
• Glennine Varga is a certified TMD assistant with the AACP and has been in dental education for over 18 years. She has been a TMD/Sleep Apnea trainer and speaker with emphasis on medical billing and documentation for over 10 years. Glennine is the owner of DSM Boot Camp, trained and assisted hundreds of dental offices on Practice Management, TMD/Sleep Apnea, Medical Billing and Team Training.

• Kathy A. Moore, MBA, is a 29-year veteran of the medical, dental and surgical community. She specializes in training and implementation of Electronic Health and Medical Record implementation, medical billing and credentialing, collaborative marketing with MDs for Sleep Medicine, and CT and Cone Beam diagnostic technologies.

The 16 AGD-Continuing Education session will offer practical tools to improve a practice’s Dental Sleep Therapy and address clinical concerns, as well as provide relational and management tools to assist patients in various stages of treatment, understand medical insurance and Medicare, and billing challenges, dental sleep marketing and building physician / sleep lab relationships.
