Interested in niche dentistry or rebranding your dental practice?

In 2020, Dr. Andrew D. Lyons II and his partner in business and life, Dr. Joya Lyons, earned recognition from two national magazines, and successfully rebranded their independent dental practice in the midst of a pandemic. Then, the Incisal Edge 40 Under 40 honorees and Dentaltown’s first cover couple tripled their Charlotte, North Carolina’s practice’s bottom line in one month while turning a year of obstacles into opportunities.

For dentists wondering how highly-driven innovators like Dr. Andrew Lyons embrace the future and move the profession forward, an 18-minute Driving Dentistry Forward podcast will provide the questions – and the answers.

Watch Dr. Lyons’ interview with Rick Cohen, the host of Benco Dental’s new podcast series here and prepare to be motivated!

Dr. Andrew Lyons and Dr. Joya Lyons opened their first practice together in Charlotte, in February 2014, just a few years after earning their dental degrees from Meharry Medical College in Nashville. At first they offered the standard menu of care—high-quality, worthwhile work, to be sure, but something was missing.

So the two doctors formulated a question that would change their entire professional purpose: Why not give health to people at your highest level? That meant focusing on what they loved best—and in 2020, taking a cue from the increasingly popular niche-service model seen in any number of disciplines. They began a dramatic shift from their established brand, switching from the PPO model to fee-for-service work at Smile Savvy Cosmetic Dentistry.

What knowledge did they gain along the way? Find out in Dr. Drew’s discussion with podcast host Rick Cohen here.

After viewing this videocast, you’ll learn…

  • How to successfully rebrand your dental practice and its offerings,
  • How a switch from PPO model to fee-for-service can be effective,
  • What can help you decide if a niche-service model is right for you,
  • Which investment can benefit a cosmetic dentist.
