Annual competition’s juried panel recognizes outstanding spaces in California, Maryland, Michigan, Tennessee and Texas.

Consider a teeming array of gorgeous, functional spaces as fun to work in as they are soothing to patients’ sometimes-anxious souls. Next, perform a comprehensive review of practice photos and floor plans, along with explanations of how each attains a balance of design, operation, and technology.

The juried panel for the Incisal Edge Design Competition does that — and more — annually to determine which nominees from across the U.S. will earn national recognition for dental practice design. This year’s competition took place from July through November, 2020 and today, the magazine announces its 2021 winners and honorable mentions in three categories:

Honorees of the 9th annual competition will be featured in the print and digital issues of Incisal Edge magazine this spring. The competition’s juried panel from the dental and architectural worlds included Joyce Bassett, DDS, FAACD, FAGD, Tristan Hamilton, DDS, M. ARCH, Phyllis Marshall-Rice, LEED AP, EDAC and Andrew Lyons, DDS. Dr. Hamilton is a previous recipient of an Incisal Edge Design Competition award.
