February event addresses The Opioid Crisis: What We Don’t Fix Cannot Heal and honors 15 support specialists

A few days remain to nominate dental support specialists local to Columbus, Ohio for an upcoming honor.
The support team surrounding a dentist is critical for creating success in the practice.

The Lucy Hobbs Project, powered by Benco Dental, in collaboration with host River Park Dental will recognize 15 local support specialists at a February event.

January 5 is the final day to submit a nomination: Nominate here.
Then on February 7 from 6 to 9 p.m., join Phing Saurer, DDS, PhD as she serves as emcee for an exciting Lucy Hobbs Project Regional Event at Brick House Blue, 6605 Longshore Street, Suite 240, Dublin, Ohio 43017.

Addiction touches all of us and we cannot heal what we do not fix. Join The Lucy Hobbs Project for an evening of educational discussion and to celebrate the efforts of addiction prevention being made. Dental support awards will be given to the top 15 nominees in Columbus. A raffle of prizes will benefit “A Voice For Sean”. Dinner and refreshments will be provided.

1. Lucy Hobbs Humanitarian Award recipient SHARON PARSONS, DDS, will speak on the importance of prevention and opioid harm. Speaker and activist Dr. Sharon Parsons founded the nonprofit “A Voice for Sean” for opioid addiction education and advocacy after the loss of her adult son, Sean, to an opioid overdose.

• Learn some of the basics of addiction.
• Be a more informed prescriber.

2. Counselor and recovering addict JENN STOTTLEMIRE will share her personal experience of addiction and recovery. Her story will include key components to avoid enabling current addicts.

OBJECTIVES:
* How to observe signs and symptoms of an addict
* How to avoid enabling an active addict

3. Lead instructor for Recovering Yoga RACHEL BERTNER will speak to the importance of self awareness toward personal health on a physical, mental, and spiritual level in the professional world.

COURSE: Healing from Addiction
OBJECTIVES:
• Using yoga movement and meditation to survive trauma

• Healing and empowerment of women
