Sunglasses, the souvenir of champions
This spring, during a two-day whirlwind event hosted in their honor in New York City, the Incisal Edge 40 Under 40 — America’s best young dentists — received a few surprises.
On May 11th and 12th, 40 of the top young dentists in the nation put their chairside techniques on hold just long enough to be outfitted and photographed by celebrated style director Joseph DeAcetis and photographer Matt Furman. The portfolio they create will serve as the centerpiece of the dental lifestyle magazine’s Fall issue.
The event featured live painting performance artist and
philanthropist Eric Waugh, who worked non-stop for 48 hours to create smile-inspired original designs.
As a parting gift, each dentist received designer sunglasses (think Oakley, Kate Spade) courtesy of the Benco Dental BluChip program, dentistry’s first customer loyalty reward program.
Check the shades, brah!
This year’s honorees were sweet enough to share some selfies in their new shades taken all over the U.S., including 40 Under 40 honoree Dr. Pearl Ambrosio Caligiuri and husband, Dr. Matt Caligiuri, of Canyon County, California, shown outside the Museum of Ice Cream in Los Angeles. “Matt is wearing pink glasses to be dressed for the occasion,” says Dr. Pearl. “I love my Kate Spade glasses and I wear them all the time. Thank you Benco for the generous gift.”
