A healthy helping of encouragement in the form of a Back-to-School card, according to Cradles to Crayons.

The nonprofit organization serves as a resource for communities in need and a hub of civic engagement in Greater Philadelphia by providing children from birth through age 12 living in homeless or low-income situations with the essential items they need to thrive – at home, at school and at play.

During their upcoming August Backpack-A-Thon™ event to prepare children for the new school year they will distribute 30,000 backpacks. Inside each backpack, they aim to include one Back-to-School card featuring words of encouragement. That’s where the Lucy Hobbs Project comes in.

At its upcoming annual celebration, April 27 and 28 in Philadelphia, the organization designed to support women in dentistry will invite attendees to donate back to school supplies in lieu of an attendance fee. In the meantime, they are inviting everyone to create a card in support.

On Thursday and Friday, April 6 and 7, associates at the home office of Benco Dental, which powers the Lucy Hobbs Project, were able to create cards. Cards can be simple, colorful, with inspiring messages or pictures. It’s easy and only takes a few minutes!
