Lenny Kravitz’s Let Love Rule Foundation & GLO Good Foundation Team Up to Bring Community Dental Services to Eleuthera, Bahamas

Gregory Town, Eleuthera in the Bahamas is a place where Lenny Kravitz has meaningful ties; his mother’s family originated from the island also the artist currently operates a studio and maintain a longtime residence. With his deep roots and connection to the island’s history, Kravitz has a compassionate understanding for the ongoing plight to have health services offered to the community’s residents.

Following a conversation with his NYC-based dentist Jonathan B. Levine, DMD, in 2015, the pair decided to partner to launch an annual dental clinic in Gregory Town for its residents. Kravitz’s Let Love Rule Foundation aligned with Dr Levine’s GLO Good Foundation, a global charity serving those in need of oral health services founded by Dr. Levine and GLO Science co-founder Stacey Levine.

Together with Dr. Levine’s  dental team, in the fall of  2015 they launched a small clinic on the island to deliver community health services and dental care. Dr. Jonathan and Stacey Levine joined Kravitz in a return visit to Eleuthera on October 19 and expanded the clinic to include more than 45 people: dentists, endodontists, prosthodontists, assistants, hygienists, lab technicians and additional support staff.  A total of nearly 500 people received services, which included making and repairing dentures, providing fillings and restorations, offering root canals and extractions, cleanings, sealants and whitening. Additional services provided: monitoring blood pressure and vitals and dermatology screening

Said Kravitz, “It is of the utmost importance to me that the people in my community receive free first-class health care. Moreover, it is even more of a priority that they receive the knowledge about their bodies and ultimately how to take care of them. Unfortunately, much of the food that is offered here on the island can lead to health problems. This, combined with poor education and lack of proper health care, shows me there is still a lot of work to do to change the situation. This is just the beginning.”

“Providing people access to world-class oral care and empowering them with a healthy smile is our goal. The gift of the smile is an inalienable right. …We smile when we are happy, to share our feelings, when we say hello and goodbye. Everyone deserves a healthy and confident smile, and our work Lenny Kravitz and Let Love Rule is allowing us to deliver that.” said Stacey Levine, co-founder of GLO Good.

Oral health care education is a large part of the mission of GLO Good, providing the important lifestyle habits to prevent dental disease from becoming life threatening.  Children’s recreational programs and activities on dental and medical education were provided throughout the duration of the clinic.

“Access to quality oral health care is often a challenge, but when people come together in the spirit of giving back, delivery of those services to the community is not only possible, it’s efficient and extremely rewarding.  Our core mission at GLO Good is to go wherever there is a need for services, and with partners like Let Love Rule and Lenny Kravitz, we will be able to leave healthy smiles wherever that mission takes us,” said Jonathan B. Levine, DMD, Co-Founder of GLO Good.
