More excitement than you can shake a stick at: that about describes a grand exposition that included 220 attendees on October 8, in Flower Mound, Texas at Benco Dental’s newest design showroom.
To mark the third significant expansion within a decade for a company that has grown from a single downtown location to the largest privately-owned dental distributor in the U.S., Benco Dental hosted a ribbon-cutting event and open house. The company’s newest Destination CenterPoint will enhance its level of commitment to the more than 35,000 dentists and dental laboratories the company currently services nationwide.
In addition to a welcome from guest speaker Lori Walker, Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce President, guests were privy to an exclusive tour of the design showroom and the 135,000-square foot Distribution Center on premise, which began operation on June 8, 2015. Prior to that date, Benco Dental’s local distribution center –- one of five in the United
States — had been located one mile away in Grapevine, Texas for the past 11 years. The Open House reception invited guests to take part in live demonstrations of the process that makes same-day dentistry possible: Benco Dental’s OneVisit™ Solution.
The family-owned company’s goal with the Destination CenterPoint concept, according to Managing Director Chuck Cohen: “To deliver a broad array of products and services and insightful solutions in one place for customer convenience.”
The newest design showroom, located at 501 Lakeside Parkway, Ste. 100, Flower Mound, will enable Benco Dental to bring to the lower Midwest a selection of dental equipment and technology (North America’s largest) that has been referred to by practitioners in Costa Mesa, California, as the “Disneyland for dentists.” These Destination CenterPoints — the inaugural showroom established in 2010 at the company’s Pennsylvania headquarters and the second following quickly in Southern California –- in addition to products, feature a hands-on design experience, to assist dentists in the redesigning or planning and construction of an office.
Concurrent with the October 8 Open House, Benco Dental hosted a two-day CenterPoint Design Seminar on site, led by industry leaders. On Thursday, ergonomics expert Dr. Mark Tholen, presented workable action plans for dentists wondering whether the new construction or renovation of practice design could deliver ROI, improve patient experience and help reduce staff turnover. In addition to Dr. Mark Tholen, DDS, MBA, presenters include: Charles Loretto, Director of New Client Service, Cain, Watters & Associates, P.C., President/Owner National Dental Placements, Lisa Philp, RDH, CMC, Chief Visionary Officer, Transitions Group North
America, Heather Kubic Skapyak, NCIDQ, CenterPoint Services Manager, Benco Dental and Tom Kearns, CenterPoint Design Manager, Benco Dental.
“We’ve only been able to grow and increase the offerings to our customers based on the commitment from our associates and vendor partners,” said Rick Cohen, managing director of Benco Dental.
