One young dentist, a native of Scranton, Pennsylvania, will compete on the CBS reality show “Big Brother” in a  quest for $500,000, according to a report yesterday in thetimestribune.com
According to Dr. John McGuire’s biography on the Big Brother website, the Penn State and Temple universities graduate wants to use the contest’s grand prize to “save his parents’ lake house and finally pay off his school loans.”
John McGuire, D.M.D., of Jefferson Twp., will compete on the 17th edition of the CBS reality competition series “Big Brother,” which premieres Wednesday, June 24.
As one of 14 strangers, he will be isolated from the outside world and living under the watchful eye of “Big Brother” — 80 high-definition cameras and more than 100 microphones planted around the house. Contestants must use wit and strategy to survive periodic evictions in order to be the last remaining guest and win the grand prize of $500,000.
