Do your patients share positive comments on unique features of your reception room? Does your staff offer feedback daily on the positive workflow of your operatories, sterilization center and overall practice?

Whether you spent years poring over possibilities for new construction, months re-envisioning and repurposing a practice with potential or endless hours selecting specifics for your specialty, isn’t it time your practice designs moved into the spotlight?

The 2016 Incisal Edge Design Contest, sponsored by Clarion Financial for the third year, aims to reward creativity and innovation. The dental lifestyle magazines has invited a blue ribbon panel of judges, who will select the top designs, and provide their thoughts on each.

The Oklahoma City practice of Dr. Steve Truong, Dental 32,  shown above, serves as inspiration for those considering the category of New Construction. The 2015 Incisal Edge Design Contest winner shared his thoughts with the magazine:

“My community was local to the arts district, design occupations and young professionals,”says Dr. Truong. “We wanted an environment that felt like our office belonged to them: modern and clean, but not cold; bright and vibrant, but not unprofessional.”

Mission accomplished. The 2,200- square-foot, single-floor layout — in the historic Clark Building in the “Deep Deuce” arts district near downtown Oklahoma City — is unconventional, with an almost trapezoidal shape, a variety of wall textures and gallery space in which a rotation of local artists show off their work.
