No word from the American Dental Association on the safety of mouth accessories made famous by rappers Flavor Flav and Slick Rick.  At present there are no studies that show that grills are harmful to the mouth—but there are no studies that show that their longterm wear is safe, either. (Please don’t try to attach them with glue, though, warns the ADA.)

Regardless, HuffingtonPost.com celebrated them this week with a celebrity photo collection in tribute to the 34th birthday of rapper Paul Wall.

“The Houston native Wall made and sold the product as he lays out in his famous line from “Grillz”: ‘Call me George Foreman cause I’m selling everybody grillz.’ ” said .
