Professional singer and actor, sports commentator and … pediatric dentist?

Meet Dr. Howard Elson, whose musical comedy dental show features routines like “TMJ,” “Dental Blues,” and “The Perfect Receptionist.”

Perhaps you already have made his acquaintance, since the Pennsylvania-based practitioner has entertained  at The Academy of General Dentistry National Convention, The Pennsylvania Dental Association State Meeting and the University of Alabama Dental Alumni Association.

Or if you’re a native New Yorker, you may have been privy to a performance during his circuit in the city’s clubs where he cut his teeth in the entertainment industry to subsidize his dental school expenses.

Dr. Elson has been singing, acting and performing professionally for over 40 years, starting with singing himself through college and dental school by performing in New York City nightclubs and Catskill Mountain resorts.

Over the years, the talented DMD balanced caring for patients at his McKeesport, Pennsylvania, practice and starring as Tevye in Pittsburgh Musical Theatre‘s Fiddler on the Roof, among other productions. Oh, and he managed to find time to weigh in with sports talk as KDKA radio’s award-winning commentator with his In The Cheap Seats segments.
