Five dentists – Mary Ann Mason, JoEllen Havron, Arielle Spivey, My-Thi Tran, and Joseph Gegzna – along with more than 30 volunteers, shown above,  assisted in extracting 46 teeth from 35 Fairhope, Alabama community members unable to afford the treatment, according to Northcutt Dental Practice office manager Jamie Brooks.

Brooks shared details about the Northcutt Dental Practice’s seasonal community outreach, Dentistry with a Heart Program which took place September 26, with reporter Deirdra Drinkard-McCool for a story that appeared in AL.com

The event, in which people lined up hours prior to the start, was held at the Fairhope Northcutt Dental office and offered free teeth extractions for community members.

“We are always so happy to provide our services to those in need,” Dr. Havron told AL.com. “It’s always such a rewarding feeling to be able to give back to the community.  We are thankful to everyone who helped make the day such a success.”

Brooks said that Northcutt Dental Practice is thankful for the success of the day, which was made possible with their sponsors Benco Dental Supplies, Chick-Fil-A of Daphne and The Way Church.

Since the inception of this Dentistry with a Heart event in 2010, more than 410 people have received free teeth extractions and more than 550 teeth have been extracted. Teeth extractions include both simple extractions and those requiring surgery. This work totals about $104,000 worth of free treatment that has been provided to the community as a result of Dentistry with a Heart.
