OSAP. CDC. Two acronyms that oral healthcare providers recognize as advocates for safety.

Early next year in Atlanta, Georgia, OSAP, or the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention, will present its 2015 Infection Control Boot Camp as part of the Safest Dental Visit™ program.

As part of the visit, an optional tour of the David J. Sencer CDC Museum is offered. Though the agency is known for its battle against modern health threats like obesity, cancer and smoking, many others are part of its storied history. Hear from the scientists about the urgent discovery that led to Legionnaires Disease.

Learn the role the agency has played in the prevention of the spread of AIDS, West Nile Virus, Smallpox, among others. Museum visitors can discover how CDC assisted NASA during the Apollo 11 Moon Mission and find out what goes on at CDC Disease Detective Camp.

A Smithsonian Affiliate, the CDC Museum uses award-winning exhibits and innovative programing to educate visitors about the value of public health, and presents the rich heritage and vast accomplishments of CDC. The museum hosts about 90,000 visitors each year.

Registration for the Infection Control Boot Camp is available now.
