Carrot toothbrush cases and lunch boxes in the same shade. That’s what 20,000 students in more than 20 states will receive before the end of this year. It’s all part of Dr. Winifred Booker’s oral-health initiative, Lessons in a Lunch Box.

The Baltimore County pediatric dentist cofounded the program in 2008 with the Children’s Oral Health Institute to promote “healthy-teeth essentials and facts about snacks” for elementary-school students across the United States.
