People who could not afford treatment in Bay Minette, Ala. were able to put one set of worries on hold for a day, thanks to Dentistry with a Heart and Northcutt Dental Practice.

According to a story on AL.com,  five dentists and more than 20 volunteers were able to relieve pain and  assist more than 60 people Feb. 28 at the event for the community. Professionals dedicated their services to extract more than 80 teeth, which added up to be almost $15,000 worth of free treatment, said Northcutt Dental Practice Bay Minette office manager Kathryn Barnette.

She told Al.com that Northcutt Dental Practice is thankful for the success of the day, which was made possible with their sponsors Benco Dental, Chick-Fil-A of Daphne, Charlie Trotman Company and Dragonfly photography.

Since the inception of Dentistry with a Heart in 2010, more than 275 people have received free teeth extractions and more than 375 teeth have been extracted. Teeth extractions include both simple extractions and those requiring surgery. This work totals about $75,000 worth of free treatment that has been provided to the community as a result of Dentistry with a Heart.
